Winter walk in Malta – St Julians to Sliema

Winter walk In Malta from Saint Julian to Sliema, walking down the promenade. Join me in this walking tour in Malta, while i give you information what you can do in Malta during the winter time. The weather is very unpredictable, one day can feel like 20° and the next day can feel like 0°, this is all due to the strong winds that we can have in Malta.

  1. ALEX: been to both Valetta and Bangkok: two VERY different cities.
Watch out for pickpockets in Bangkok.
The Thai definition of "spicy" food is different from your definition, so be careful eating those little green and red peppers… they are HOT, like fire!! Bangkok is ridiculously cheap compared to Malta, but Phuket is more expensive than Bangkok wherever the tourists go.
    Bring a small umbrella.
Observe the cleanliness of a street food vendor before ordering any food; I made the mistake of not doing that up in Ayutthaya and caught dysentery…. was sick for two months!
Do NOT go near any illegal drugs, ever! The penalties are horrible.
There are a lot of opportunities for sexual encounters in Thailand: any kind you want, for very low cost, BUT, the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and other STD's is one of the highest in the world:… enough said.
MUST SEE in Bangkok: Temple of the Golden Buddha, Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and also be sure to visit the Temple of Dawn in the early morning as the sun rises (you will be amazed). If you like jewelry, Buy a "BAHT Chain" necklace…. they come in many different lengths and weights…. and they are all made of 22K gold. The links are distinctive and recognizable worldwide by those that know the finer things in life. Take a small boat tour up the klongs of the river to see the Floating Market… fascinating!! Do a walking tour with your video camera of Sukhumvit Street and the innumerable little alleyways.
Haggle on the prices of anything and try to get a better deal…. the Thai's expect that. Have a good trip!!

Greetings from Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA.

  5. Alex for your 7 day video why don’t you hop on a Hop on Hop off bus and do a video for each stop they make. For a tourist that would be quite interesting. Have fun in Thailand

  10. As much as I love Malta and have watched almost all of your Malta videos, I am also looking forward to your posts from Thailand, as I have been there several times, but it has been a long time since my last visit. Are Koh Samui and Ko Pha Ngan also on your radar? In any case, I wish you exciting travel experiences and good luck!

  11. Hi Alex, love the videos, inspiring and informative and helped in terms of a recent trip. Next up is a visit in May to Birgu so would be good to see a video of this area…or Marsaskala!! Keep up the good work and enjoy Thailand. Rob

  12. Hi Alex! Me and my husband are visiting Malta later this spring and we’re finding your videos so useful to see the island! I was wondering if you have ever walked The Victoria Lines, we’re big walkers and would love to see the countryside when we visit, if you have any insight into where would be the best start and end points for a hike? Thank you for your comprehensive and entertaining content ✨

  13. Returned yesterday from this beautiful island, want to return as soon as possible, I love it. Watching your videos is bringing back wonderful memories.

  14. Alex! I just wanted to say how much I love your videos. I visited Malta in December and planned almost my entire itinerary using your content. It helped me so much.

What I really enjoy is the way you talk. Your commentary is so fun and engaging. Even when it’s just scenery, you somehow make it interesting and enjoyable to watch.

I’m from India, and I’ve been to Malta four times now. I would absolutely love to live there one day. It’s not possible for me right now, but I hope that when I’m older, I can move and stay in Malta.

Thank you for making Malta feel so welcoming through your videos!

  15. Hi Alex, I too want to go to Thailand, would love to hear about your trip, comparing Malta to Thailand for beaches, cost of living, weather, accommodations, and temples/ churches.
