Today I’m trying Japan’s most luxurious sleeper train, Train Suite SHIKI-SHIMA. It’s a train so special you need to enter a ballot just to purchase a ticket – but I found another way… all will be explained in the video.
I’ll share with you exactly what it’s like to live onboard, from my deluxe suite (one of a kind!), to the cuisine served in the restaurant, the lounge car and the futuristic observation cars. It’s an experience quite unlike anything else. We also get a chance to take a peak at the two storey maisonette suite, which has the bedroom on one floor and a tea room on the other! Plus I get the chance to enjoy snowfall, when the train passes through the mountains! As usual I’ll break down the total cost and how I booked this. Please do let me know what you think to the video down below.

Happy New Year! Hope you've had a restful break. What travel do you want to see this year? Also a little heads up, i'll be filming my first dedicated hotel review in the coming weeks – can't wait to share!
What a total waste of money for the sake of wasting money
I love that he takes his dad with him
Possibly the most AI thing I’ve ever seen of Japanforva cover
Sorry,I just want to say this out loud that your accent is really bad to hear to me.😅
What‘s with the NASA stuff?
I love that you take your parents on these trips.
九州に日帰りで5万ぐらいで楽しめるプランもあるから、ぜひ観光客の方には楽しんで欲しい!
The Snowpiercing
I heard that 7 samurais commit harakiri for every passanger that comes for a ride and that basic price ticket is 2.500.000€. Also British national orchestra is seated in one wagon and playing Metallica songs.
This must be the most beautiful train I've ever seen. You didn't take your shoes off in your suite, though. 😶
Yeah they definitely need to serve a little more food. That was like every meal was an appetizer
10:56 "a natural" ×2 at the exact same time 😂
This reminds me of the show The Snow Piecer; First class carriages were definitely referenced off these Japanese trains.
Why do you have to narrate with that melody? It’s irritating. So many YouTubers using this speaking style. So unnatural !!
Neoplan Train
Luxurious but there’s no way I could fit in that cypress bathtub. Dang that looked cramped
I was lucky enough to go on its first journey in 2017. I say lucky, but my father paid well for the privilege. ( i am surprised you are allowed to record inside)
EDIT: a point i can make, which would accentuate that which is somewhat of a problem in Japan. My dad is 190 cm, my brother as well, and i am 205 cm. Only in China have i felt more of a freak, towering over everyone.
It looks just like the 251 series super view odoriko!
Japan really knows how to do luxury.
Horse meat?OMG!!
I realy want simon to get in there
Lol I just came here from watching a video of people living under Las Vegas. Gotta love the internet
The food option always turn me off going to East Asia. It's just not for me.
You should do fly a fan deals a couple of times a year and take a fan with you on your review travels. It’s so nice you take your fam with you too. ❤
14:42 how could you eat a horse 😂
I do not know if this was asked in any of these video of the 3 Japanese trains. Are they all narrow gauge trains or are they each different based on where they go to on their loop? It looked like they are narrow gauge but I am unsure of this.
I hate to say this, but, it's kind of 'pompous'……..
I love your videos. They really convey a sense of luxury.
Over 100k. Wow!
It's sad actually we should all be able to afford this at least once in our lifetime, but sadly we cant, this is on a whole other level. I need to think if i eat potatoes or rice tomorrow.
