Unbelievable experience at Maximo (*) in CDMX

For the last meal of our trip eating through Oaxaca and CDMX, we went to Maximo. The restaurant was quite hectic, with waiters almost queuing down two alleyways and different waiters serving each dish to tables.

We were 3 people ordering 6 dishes, and the very kind waiter who took our order asked us if we wanted everything to share, and we said yes.

When another waiter delivered our soup, I asked for more bowls for us to share. He proceeded to give me the most vile, dramatic eye-roll I’ve ever seen.

Never experienced this in any kind of eatery in any country I’ve been in, let alone a started establishment.

I let him have a piece of my mind then asked to speak to the manager and cancel the remaining dishes. Initially they offered to comp the soup only, but eventually cancelled the whole bill. I’m glad they were apologetic and offered the decent option in the end.

Sorry for the clickbait title / if this kind of post isn’t encouraged, but I pretty much only used this subreddit for market research to decide on my restaurants this trip, and I would have liked to read a review like this.

For the record, my friends said the food was pretty good, but I was too angry to try any.

(We are Asian btw, not saying I’m convinced there was a racial factor but yeah)
