Set up my tent outside yesterday to air out, and these marks were not there! After it started to drizzle I brought the tent inside to keep airing it out, I did not pack it away.

I brought it back outside this morning and noticed these on the bottom. Doesn't look like mud, and there's nothing on the outside that would signify that! not wet to the touch either.

Technically, I understand mold is unlikely to be the issue considering I didn't pack it away wet, but the wet tent bag was left inside it overnight. It's a macpac duolight tent, are they just prone to discolouration after getting wet maybe?

  1. Could be just fine dirt or soot that has settled into some areas carried by a bit of pooling of rainwater. Try scrubbing an area with a very dilute dish detergent and a clean cloth.

Other possibility is a bit of mildew, but this won’t appear overnight as a rule.
