Between all the noise of Doha and Dubai there is also the little island nation of Bahrain. A tiny gulf state that I visited for a few days combined with a trip to Qatar. The country is different from Qatar; the roads are more quiet and you get some interaction with the locals. In Bahrain you see them at hotels, shops or taxi drivers (in Qatar the locals only seem to work for the government). Some of them are quite chatty. Another thing I noticed is that clothing is a lot less conservative in Bahrain. All together a very interesting country to visit for a few days if you are in that area.
