I went alone to the needle and I felt like I was being watched, only to realize there could have def been mountain lions around! I hike everywhere alone and that hike made me the most nervous.

  3. These colors are gorgeous. Coming from the PNW where everything is green and grey for months, desert hiking always feels like visiting another planet. Did a trip to Sedona last spring and the contrast with what im used to back home was wild. How were the temps out there?

  4. The Superstitions are on my list. I mostly hike around the Bay Area but took a trip to Sedona last year and the desert hiking completely changed my perspective. Something about the wide open views and the dry air hits different compared to coastal trails. How crowded was Peralta Ridge when you went?

  5. I am just leaving Arizona and heading back home to Washington state. While in Phoenix I revisited my favorite South Mountain trail, the Mormon Loop to include Fatman’s Pass and Hidden Valley. What a wonderful hike right in town.
