Following one of the greatest powder days (almost total white out, see last photo) I have ever experienced, the day wrapped up with a lovely meal at Les Explorateurs. It was located inside the Pashmina hotel, and we were offered a car transfer by the hotel before.
The amouse bouches were great, though nothing to write home about. The wine list was also extensive and we went with a bottle instead of the pairing. The first two courses were the snail croquette (good). And the trout (amazing). The sauces were served alongside, with extra in little boats which I truly appreciated.
Bread was served with citrus butter, and the scallop course followed. This was so good too. Next came a variation of a tartiflette, which we had on the mountain earlier, though this one was a lot fancier.
Next up were the two mains, the arctic char with cauliflower and the veal with mushrooms and jus. Both were rich, flavorful, and tender.
Lastly the two desserts, the first of which was ice cream with a merengue, and then the chocolate and flaky pastry which my friend and I shared. Overall, this was an excellent meal. The 7 course tasting was €180, which I also thought to be great value for a ski town in France. Service was slow but friendly, which was a perfect way to wrap up an intense day of skiing.
