The François I Gallery, located in the Château de Fontainebleau in France. It is the only castle inhabited by all French sovereigns from the 12th to the 19th century (i.e., 800 years of royal and imperial presence).[OC]
Built between 1528 and 1530, it is remarkable for its innovative combination of frescoes, high-relief stucco work, and carved woodwork, introducing Italian Mannerist art to France.
