Overall an enjoyable evening and one of my better 1 * experiences in Italy. Highlights were the duck (better than Osteria Francescana's imho) and the sweetbreads + oysters. Service was extremely slow (took roughly 4 hours). The wine list was interesting, and reasonably priced.
It's frustrating that most Italian fine dining restaurants are forced to have an a-la-carte option (hate of tasting menus is widespread) – I imagine it must be very hard for the kitchen to keep up with both tasting menus and a-la-carte and keep waits reasonable.
