Great tips! We’ll be doing a Rhine River cruise in mid-July so presume shorts and sundresses will be ok with some other items to layer for cooler temps/evenings on board?

Hello, how much money is in Euros should we need for the river cruise? We're doing pre cruise in Amsterdam 2 nights. Post cruise 4 nights in Switzerland, we'll need Francs. Plus, do they give you time to look around your own during the excursions? Thank you so much!

Hello! I really appreciate your to the point comparison of river cruises! However, I’m really bummed that there isn’t more of an upscale clothing requirement. Our world is so casual, too casual. And while you may not enjoy dressing up, I sure do! That’s so much of the fun of vacations for me actually… And I bet there are others out there who are like that as well! A little bummed to see that it’s so casual on these expensive AMA cruises.
Can you recommend a luxury cruise, river or ocean, that is a little more old school and dressy?

Now retired this year we are joining family in October on first River Cruise The Douro River with a few extra days in Lisbon and Porto. Incredibly informative video. I was making a list of questions while playing the video & next thing I know, you're answering them! Most bloggers stop short of providing this level of detail leaving viewers with more questions than before watching video. The ballpark pricing on the beer, wine & liquor when imbibing outside of meal times is very informative. Pricing does not seem outrageous like I would expect. Great to know you can bring your own beer, wine & liquor if you so choose. Terrific illustration of the before & after of using the Downy Wrinkle Release. I was a skeptic but will do my own tests at home prior to trip. Really good to know about the curling iron "ban" and that you can request one (early) on board. Very helpful to see the various menu's. Husband is a meat & potato guy, no sauces, cheese, mushrooms, creamy items and the like but hopefully he'll find something to eat. Your clothing and shoes examples have changed my entire thinking on what to pack. I know I'll be able to pack lighter & I won't be afraid to have a few items laundered now that I have an idea of costs. Great to know that the magnets won't work on Ama ship walls or ceilings. That's a bummer as I've found them so useful on other cruises. Great info…. thank you.
