I‘m visiting Barcelona in the beginning of March and then friends in Lyon and I have around 8-9 days to fill in between. I was thinking of just taking the train through France and along coastal Occitania but there are so many mid-sized cities and small towns that I‘m having trouble choosing where to go and what to skip.
The train routes generally goes along the cities of Perpignan, Narbonne, Beziers, Montpellier, Nimes and lastly Avignon. The only thing I‘m really certain of is that I‘ll visit Carcassonne on the way but everything else is still up in the air. Which places would you spend more time in and which cities would you consider less interesting and maybe skippable? Are there any small towns in between that are worth a visit? Would be grateful for any advice 🙂
