Just the basics.

My original post was removed because I did not elaborate on my trip enough. I was trying to keep it short and sweet.But here goes my long version. 😃

I've been getting into quick over night trips by myself.

For these quick overnighters, I just go someplace close. I usually sleep on a cot with several layers underneath me and is a sleeping bag on top.I'll use a propane heater buddy if needed in a well ventilated tent.I just bring some wood and a prepared meal for dinner and get away for the evening. I really enjoy the solitude sometimes.

This trip was to White Rock geological formation and dispersed camping area just about 1.5hrs from my house. The area is wide open with BLM land and ranches. Wild horses are everywhere and one of the ranches off the highway has like 50 bison grazing which was pretty cool to see. The area itself is about 10-12 miles of dirt roads off the main highway so I was the only human for miles around which is what I look for. Temperatures were in the low forties at night , so it was very bearable. I was blessed with a beautiful sunset and great weather. Some nice hikes up on the geologic formation gave me a great view for some pictures. I brought some stir fry from home with some veggies and chicken for an easy hearty dinner. Bacon and eggs in the morning , with another fire to warm up before I headed home. Can't wait to make another trip soon and I'll post again.
