This is the iconic Parish Church of St. Sebastian in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden, and it’s even more magical in person. If you’re planning a trip to the Bavarian Alps, you CANNOT miss this spot. Here’s how to do it right, especially if you’re traveling on a budget!
📸 THE PHOTO SPOT: For this exact postcard shot, find the small wooden bridge that crosses the Ramsauer Ache river. It’s right in the middle of the village, and you truly can’t miss it!
⏰ BEST TIME FOR PHOTOS: Go EARLY in the morning! I’m talking just after sunrise. You’ll be rewarded with soft, golden light and, more importantly, you’ll beat the tour bus crowds. A quiet, empty bridge makes for a much better photo (and experience!).
🚌 GETTING HERE INDEPENDENTLY: You don’t need an expensive tour! Ramsau is easily reachable by the local bus (Line 846) from the main town of Berchtesgaden. A regional day pass is super affordable and lets you hop on and off to explore the whole area.
💰 COST: Looking at this view? Absolutely free. Walking through the charming village? Free. Hiking into the stunning Berchtesgaden National Park from here? Also free! This is proof that the most incredible travel memories don’t have to break the bank.
