So I recently pulled the trigger on my first tent after selling my roof tent. I have an Olight Sphere that I’d like to hang on the ceiling hook to use as my tent lantern. It has Bluetooth so can be turned on and off via my phone along with an array of different colours etc. No fumbling around in the dark to try and find it and turn it on.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t a hook on the lamp itself only a magnetic base and was wondering what people would use to hang it?
Was thinking a metal plate with some holes in (something like in the photo), pass some paracord to make a loop to hook onto the tent hook.
Anyone used/done anything similar or any ideas?
Thanks.

Did it not come with an oLight puck? You could glue a string to the original puck and just let it hang magnetically.
Alternatively a little crochet bag with a string would be nice, aka the ball sack. The crochet would let most of the light through and also add a cool decorative pattern to the emitted light.
I use the older model of obulbs and hang them from the metal frame of my canopy just with the magnets.
If you know someone with a 3D printer, I designed something specifically for this application. I have 8 Spheres that I hang from my Christmas tree.

I’d just do something like this with some thin twine or paracord.
Olight sells something called an olink. You can get them on amazon for like 10 bucks. I used a sphere with an olink hung in my tent on my last trip and it worked great.
If you’re really cheap you could use a zip lock bag and a clothes pin.
I’d go to the hardware store and buy an S hook. It’s metal so it will stick to the magnets, and then hook through the loop.
Just put a small magnet on the outside of the tent
