Located in Normandy, Étretat is famous for its dramatic white cliffs, natural arches, and panoramic views over the English Channel. But beyond the iconic scenery, we explore what actually makes this place worth visiting — from the main beach (La Plage) to the hidden viewpoints above the cliffs, and the surprisingly expansive Jardins d’Étretat.
We start the day on the beach, walking along the coastline with views of the famous cliffs on both sides. Then we stop for a seaside lunch to see if the food lives up to the location — from fresh fish to scallops and local specialties.
Next, we head up to the chapel viewpoint, one of the best photo spots in Étretat, before exploring the Jardins d’Étretat — a unique garden combining art, landscape design, and panoramic coastal views. From the well-known “garden of emotions” to quieter hidden sections, this turned out to be much more than expected.
