Walking to Ano Samos | Hill Walk Above Samos Town

We set out early in the morning on a walk up to Ano Samos, the old town above the bay. With the sun not yet up, the streets were quiet, the air was cool, and the climb began gently… and then got a little more complicated.

Using a downloaded walking route, we try to make our way up the hill without losing too much height — navigating narrow roads, steps, olive groves, and a few wrong turns along the way. As often happens, the route doesn’t quite go to plan, but that’s part of the walk.

Along the way we pass small churches, a cemetery, an amphitheatre, and viewpoints looking back over the harbour and ferry port. Eventually we make our way back down, ready to catch a bus to Pythagorio — which we’ll save for another walk.

This is a quiet, real-time walking video with natural sound and commentary, filmed early in the morning while Samos was still waking up.
