Would You Walk This Old Town After It Goes Quiet? — Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France

After sunset in Saint-Paul-de-Vence (French Riviera), the busy restaurant terraces at the entrance give way to empty medieval streets just a few steps inside the old town. Early in the walk, the church closes for the night, and from that moment the village becomes almost completely silent, with only footsteps and distant voices breaking the quiet as the route continues through narrow stone alleys lit by warm lanterns.

The walk begins at the Dauphin Bastion with a horse sculpture and active restaurants, then quickly moves into the old town where the atmosphere changes. Within minutes, the streets clear out, and the route passes the Collegiate Church just as it closes for the evening. From there, the walk continues through a maze-like network of narrow streets, including one of the tightest passages in the village, before reaching Rue Grande with a few open shops and light activity. The route passes the central fountain, then continues through dimly lit streets toward the exit at Porte de Nice, where the walk ends outside the old walls.
