Today we ride the Amaterasu Railway in Japan in immersive VR—a scenic open-air train through Takachiho Gorge and one of the most unique railway experiences in Japan.
Continuing our road trip across Japan, we visit Amaterasu Railway, a restored community railway that winds through the countryside and across one of Japan’s highest railway bridges.
Originally part of the Takachiho Railway, the line was destroyed by a typhoon in 2005—but thanks to the efforts of the local community, part of it was rebuilt into this unforgettable scenic train experience.
