I took a short day trip to Saint Emilion from Bordeaux. There’s usually a direct train that’ll take you there, but in the event of planned engineering works, I advise you get the train to Libourne where replacement buses will pick you up. Be sure to confirm timetables, but I believe there is one every hour.
I took a turn about the hilltop town, had lunch at the cloisters, then headed down towards a winery tour.
I booked a tour at 📍Scea Château Saint Georges Côte Pavie for just €20- a small winery, but mighty in output and capacity.
