Poland Is 4 Different Countries in One Map

Poland looks like one country on the map. But under the surface, it’s four completely different worlds — shaped by three empires that divided it for over 100 years.
In the late 18th century, the Russian, Prussian, and Austrian Empires carved up Poland and erased it from the map for 123 years. Each empire imposed its own language, laws, economy, and way of life. And even though Poland was reborn in 1918 — those invisible borders never truly disappeared.
In this documentary, we explore: 🔵 The West — modern, organized, and forward-looking (the legacy of Prussia) 🟡 The South — traditional, deeply Catholic, and fiercely proud (the legacy of Austria and the Górale Highlanders) 🔴 The East — rural, mystical, and multicultural (the legacy of Russia’s forgotten borderlands) 🟢 The North — rebellious, cosmopolitan, and sea-facing (where Solidarity was born and communism fell)
hese aren’t just historical footnotes. They still shape how Poles vote, where wealth concentrates, and what it means to be Polish today.
📌 Poland is united — but it is not uniform.
