Hiking along the Cinque Terre coastline is one of the most stunning experiences in all of Italy 🇮🇹—but there’s a lot to know before you lace up your shoes!

🗺️ The main trail most people are talking about is the Blue Trail (Sentiero Azzurro) — a 12 km path that links all 5 villages along the coast. It’s known for sea views, cliffside vineyards, and charming villages…but not all sections are open all year due to landslides or weather 🌧️

✨ Here are a few trail names you’ll see pop up:
    • Blue Trail: Iconic, coastal, passes through all 5 towns • Via dell’Amore (Part of the Blue Trail): Short, scenic path between Riomaggiore & Manarola — recently reopened! 💘 • High Trail (Sentiero Rosso): A more difficult hike higher in the hills — longer, steeper, and less crowded

    🎯 Recommended Blue Trail sections:
    • Monterosso ➡️ Vernazza • Riomaggiore ➡️ Manarola (when open!)
Note: During peak season, some sections are enforced as one-way to reduce crowding

🚧 Before hiking, ALWAYS check the trail status on the official park website — closures can happen daily due to weather or maintenance.

👩‍💻 The OFFICIAL park website is www.parconazionale5terre.it

🧾 Now let’s talk about the Cinque Terre Card:
To hike the Blue Trail or Via dell’Amore, you’ll need this special national park pass, available at train stations in each town or online. There are two options:
    • Trekking Card (€7.50–€18.20): Access to hiking trails only • Treno Card (€19.50–€32.50): Includes unlimited access to both hiking trails and the Cinque Terre trains for 1–3 days 🚆

💡 Tip: The Treno Card is totally worth it if you’re planning to both hike and take the train between towns (which most travelers do!)
