If you’re short on time but want a taste of all five villages, here’s how to do it:
☀️ Start your morning in Monterosso al Mare
Grab breakfast, enjoy the beach views, and get ready to hike!
🥾 Hike the Blue Trail south to Vernazza
This hike takes about 2 hours and is SO worth it — cliffside vineyards, sea views, and one of the prettiest town arrivals in Italy.
🍕 Lunch or a snack in Vernazza
Stroll through the village, soak in the views, and grab a bite before heading out.
🚆 Train to Corniglia
This cliffside town sits high above the sea — fewer crowds, peaceful vibes, and stunning views. Explore Corniglia for a bit before heading to the next town.
🚆 Next, train all the way down to Riomaggiore (Cinque Terre’s southernmost village)
Wander its narrow streets, catch the harbor views, and feel the energy.

We recommend visiting in the off season or shoulder season, and typically we recommend staying longer in a place like this to really get a feel for the community.
