Leeds Bradford Airport (IATA: LBA, ICAO: EGNM) is the principal commercial airport serving West Yorkshire and the wider Leeds City Region in the north of England. It is located approximately 7 miles northwest of Leeds city centre and around 9 miles northeast of Bradford, near the town of Yeadon. The airport sits at an elevation of about 681 feet (208 metres) above sea level, making it one of the higher major airports in the United Kingdom.
Leeds Bradford Airport has a single runway, designated 14/32, which measures approximately 2,250 metres in length. Its elevated position and surrounding terrain can create operational challenges, particularly in strong crosswinds, low visibility or winter conditions. For aviation enthusiasts, this adds interest to arrivals and departures, especially when aircraft approach over the A658 or climb out over the Pennine landscape.
