Swiss-headquartered ultra-luxury hospitality company The Aman Group has announced Aman Seoul, the brand’s first destination in South Korea.
Situated in Cheongdam, one of Seoul’s most prestigious districts, Aman Seoul occupies a prime position overlooking the Han River in the heart of Gangnam. Aman Seoul will be developed by Shinsegae Property, the real estate development arm of Shinsegae Group.

Aman Seoul represents our conviction in the city’s future and our desire to build a permanent home for the Aman lifestyle within it.”
Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, says Aman Seoul represents “far more than a hotel development”. “It will set a new benchmark for luxury living in Seoul. Drawing on our expertise in creating distinctive destinations, we will continue to shape innovative spaces that bring new value and inspiration to the way people live.”
Aman Seoul follows Aman Tokyo, Aman New York and Aman Nai Lert Bangkok; and sits alongside forthcoming projects including Aman Beverly Hills, Aman Miami Beach, Aman Dubai and Aman Singapore.
The project announcement follows a strategic partnership established in July between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, the US-based real estate development company founded and led by Doronin.
The partners will invest US$500 million ($637 million) initially. Doronin expects the new fund to continue to raise money for development projects in the US, Asia and the Middle East.
The first Aman hotel opened in 1988 in Phuket, Thailand. Doronin acquired the company in 2014.
