Woongjin Prido Life said on the 19th that it has opened Anyang Shil Nagwon, the 17th branch of its funeral home brand Shil Nagwon, in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Anyang Shil Nagwon spans a total floor area of 11,388 square meters (3,445 pyeong), making it the largest among the company’s Shil Nagwon branches nationwide. It houses 10 mortuary rooms, including VIP Rooms 1 and 2 that measure 137 pyeong, and can accommodate up to 1,060 people at once.

The facility includes a memorial hall where funeral rites for different religions can be held, along with a separate observation room. Its parking lot can hold up to 168 vehicles. The exterior features a design reminiscent of a modern art museum, while the interior is laid out with high ceilings and wide walkways.

The company also created spaces open to local residents. On the first floor, a park and an unstaffed cafe are open not only to mourners but to the general public. The third-floor parking lot will be operated as a shared parking facility for the city of Anyang.

With the opening of Anyang Shil Nagwon, Woongjin Prido Life expands its funeral home network across the southwestern part of Gyeonggi Province, including Anyang, Gunpo, Uiwang and Gwacheon. The company also plans to pursue community programs, such as hiring local talent, supporting funerals for vulnerable groups, providing public assistance in the event of disasters and carrying out volunteer work.

A Woongjin Prido Life official said the company will operate Anyang Shil Nagwon as a funeral service hub for southwestern Gyeonggi Province while developing it into a space that improves convenience for local residents.
