Historic Village of Hokkaido, Japan: Tour of Kaitaku no Mura

Please excuse my heavy breathing. I had a slight cold, was wearing a mask, and it was a bit chilly outside. I don’t have the tools to filter out my breathing sounds without also filtering out the tour guide.

Kaitaku no Mura (開拓の村, “Historical Village”) is an open-air museum in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. It gives a picture of what towns in Hokkaido used to look like. Some of the buildings seem to date back to the Meiji era (late 1800s), but based on the electric lighting and other things I found (like an old film projector), I’m guessing the town represents the Showa period (1920s-80s). I haven’t had time to verify this myself yet.
