Was on a short vacation from work and my father and I settled on this one as our top choice. It is a Hungarian restaurant but the owner is from Portugal, so the food is a mix of the two cuisines.
Small starters were Prawn, Squid and Beef. There was not a very strong flavor from the first two, but I enjoyed the beef the most.
Trout with corn, caviar, lime and corn sauce – This was pretty good, I absolutely loved the corn sauce. The trout was delicate and well seasoned… but as a corn fan, the sauce was incredible.
Tomato essence and Stracciatella – Served with tomato gazpacho , the flavors were so clean, creamy and, well, tomato-y 🙂 Everything complemented each other.
Cod, broccoli and "nage" – Cod was flaky, went very well with the broccoli and sauce. My father enjoyed both this and the trout more than I did.
Beef sirloin, Swiss chard, capers and fermented potatoes – Beef was very well cooked, though I'm not a big fan of "red" as most are. The potatoes, chard and capers were excellent as well.
Watermelon – a small break before dessert. I believe it has some cheese alongside the watermelon jellies and mint. Huge fan of this one and just 100% watermelon flavor.
Semolina pudding – Chocolate and strawberries in different variations (dirt, jelly, pudding, granita). I absolutely loved it, though the first time around they gave me half the strawberries granita and in my opinion the chocolate was so overpowering, it needed all of the granita.
Cheese platter – Dad took this one, with three different cheeses (blue and couple of others which I do not recall), served with apricot jam, honey, hazelnuts and crepes.
At the end we received two additional desserts, one of which was chocolate biscuit and the right one is cinnamon based dessert. If you're from Brazil/Portugal you know what it is, I don't know the name of it, sorry.
Service was impeccable, water always filled, we took the wine pairings for each dish which was excellent. I dislike red wine, so I received a 20-year old Hungarian white wine instead for the beef sirloin, which was wonderful for me.
Highly recommended!
