Food delivery app Yogiyo said on the 2nd that it began accepting Samsung Pay, the mobile payment service from Samsung Electronics, on Sept. 30 and is running a promotion to mark the rollout. Yogiyo is the first delivery app in the country to adopt Samsung Pay.

Users can pay for orders through Samsung Pay without entering separate payment details. After selecting menu items in the Yogiyo app, customers tap the payment button at checkout and then choose Samsung Pay.

Yogiyo is offering discounts through the 31st to mark the launch. Customers who download a dedicated coupon at participating restaurants and pay with Samsung Pay receive a 5% discount, with the terms set by each restaurant. The discount applies only after the coupon for a participating restaurant has been downloaded and payment is made through Samsung Pay. Customers who spend at least 25,000 won using Samsung Wallet money by the 25th of this month will earn up to 5% of the payment amount in Samsung Wallet points.

“By adopting Samsung Pay, Yogiyo customers can now order more easily using a payment method they are already familiar with,” a Yogiyo official said. “We have also prepared discount and reward benefits for customers who use Samsung Pay and Samsung Wallet money, so we expect many customers to experience Yogiyo’s more convenient ordering.”
