There are easier ways to prepare for an NFL game than dangling 135 metres above the Thames, but Indianapolis Colts fans in London this week have been offered something rather more memorable than the usual pre-match pint.

The Colts London Eye experience will put the team inside one of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks ahead of the NFL’s 2026 London Game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 4 October.

A dedicated Colts-themed London Eye pod will operate during the weekend, with selected rides featuring Colts Legends, Cheerleaders and mascot Blue. Access to those special experiences is limited and must be reserved in advance, with opportunities to secure places also available through activities at the Colts FanZone at Greenwood.

It is an unusually conspicuous bit of NFL tourism. Then again, there are few ways of quietly attaching your colours to a 135-metre observation wheel beside the Thames.

When the Colts London Eye experience is open

The special London Eye programme runs on Friday 2 October from 11 am to 6 pm and Saturday 3 October from 10am to 5pm.

Rides will operate in 30-minute intervals, with limited capacity throughout.

The location is the London Eye at Riverside Building, County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7PB.

For supporters who do not secure one of the limited themed experiences, there is a broader offer available during game weekend. Colts fans can buy £20 London Eye tickets, valid for rides aboard any London Eye pod.

Booking information is available through LondonEye.com/Colts.

From Greenwood to 135 metres above London

The London Eye partnership forms part of a wider run of Colts events around the capital.

At the Colts FanZone at Greenwood, presented by Lucas Oil, supporters can meet Colts Legends, Cheerleaders and Blue, take part in interactive activities, buy exclusive merchandise and enter opportunities linked to the London Eye experience.

The FanZone is therefore doing rather more than serving as somewhere to wait for Sunday. It is the team’s base for turning an overseas fixture into several days of activity around London.

That matters when an international game is about more than filling a stadium for three hours. The Colts are using the week to reconnect with supporters who rarely get the chance to see the team on this side of the Atlantic.

“Returning to London provides a special opportunity to reconnect with fans who have supported the Colts across the United Kingdom and beyond,” said Stephanie Pemberton, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Indianapolis Colts. “We’re always looking for ways to create memorable experiences around our international games, and this partnership with the London Eye gives fans a unique opportunity to celebrate with us throughout the week leading up to kick-off.”

A London landmark gets an Indianapolis makeover

London Eye x Colts Themed Experience

For the London Eye, the appeal is fairly obvious. An NFL travelling support brings its own colours, rituals and enthusiasm to a city already rather good at accommodating visitors.

“The London Eye has always been a place where visitors from around the world come together to celebrate what makes London special, and this October, we’re ready to bring a little bit of Indianapolis to the heart of the city,” said Robin Goodchild, Senior General Manager of the London Eye.

“The Colts have an incredibly passionate fanbase, and we’re excited to give fans travelling from the U.S., and those joining us here in London a truly unique way to celebrate their team.

Taking in the London skyline from 135 metres up is memorable on its own but doing it in a Colts-branded pod alongside the team’s cheerleaders and mascot Blue brings together the spirit of Indianapolis and one of London’s most iconic landmarks.

We can’t wait to welcome Colts fans to London and give them an unforgettable way to experience the city while celebrating the team they love.”

There is something pleasingly literal about an American football team trying to raise its profile by putting supporters on the London Eye.

    The final stop is Tottenham

All of it leads towards 4 October, when the Colts head to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the NFL’s 2026 London Game.

For travelling supporters, however, the weekend now has a recognisable Colts trail before kick-off: Greenwood at ground level, the London Eye considerably above it, then Tottenham for the reason everyone packed the jersey in the first place.
