A new documentary exploring the life and legacy of fashion editor and industry trailblazer André Leon Talley is set to premiere in New York on Friday.

“André Leon Talley: Style Is Forever” will screen exclusively at IFC Center in New York until October 15. The film will also become available for video-on-demand rental and purchase across the U.S. beginning Friday through Apple TV, Amazon, Fandango, YouTube/Google Play and other major streaming platforms.
Presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), the documentary traces Talley’s nearly five-decade career, from his childhood in the segregated South to his rise as a leading voice in American fashion and Vogue’s first Black creative director.
The film examines Talley’s influence on representation, diversity and broader definitions of beauty and identity within the fashion industry. It also features previously unseen footage documenting his personal and professional experiences, challenges and accomplishments.
Among those interviewed for the film are Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Vera Wang, Law Roach, Constance White, Vanessa Friedman, and more.
Talley died in January 2022 at the age of 73.
