The local California chain was nominated by experts and voted by the public for the award

Every year, USA Today holds the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, with categories across travel and lifestyle nominated by experts and voted on by the public. The 2026 award results are live and Urth Caffé, a local Los Angeles business, took home first place in the grab-and-go food category.

Located in Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Terminal 1, Urth Caffé offers organic and specialty coffee alongside a wide range of sandwiches, light and healthy meals, pastries and baked goods, perfect for travelers who want quality without the wait of a sit-down restaurant. A highlight of the cafe’s menu at LAX is the Traveler’s Blend, a certified organic heirloom coffee from East Africa served exclusively at the airport location.

“A heartfelt thank you to our treasured guests for voting Urth Caffé at LAX the No. 1 airport grab-and-go in the USA!” said Shallom Berkman, co-founder of Urth Caffé. “We are privileged to serve you, from the heart, our exclusive heirloom organic coffee, matcha and healthy, fresh cuisine sourced directly from local, organic, regenerative family farms.”

Don’t be fooled by the Italian spelling, Urth Caffé is California all the way with over a dozen locations in Southern California and Nevada.

“This win reflects what our team strives for every day: quality coffee and food, along with an exceptional experience for every guest,” said Gaelle Bou Raffoul, general manager of Urth Caffé at LAX Terminal 1. “I’m grateful for the care my team brings to each interaction and proud to see their work recognized.”

Passengers flying out of LAX can even find their local favorites internationally, with a new location on its way to London’s Covent Garden.

“Covent Garden is a neighborhood of old and new traditions, offering a wide variety of local cafés serving artisanal baked goods and brewing curated blends of quality. It only made sense for Urth Caffé to fit into this nook and do what we do best…serve up heirloom organic coffees, fine teas, and exquisite pastries and breads,” an Instagram post announcing the new location said.

Urth Caffé’s new London location is slated to open in 2027.
