My wife and I just had a fantastic dinner at Albi in Washington DC last night, the hype is real. Some of the tastiest middle eastern food we have ever had! We chose to do à la carte, and dishes are as follows:
-
OYSTERS – embered over coals in arak butter
& trout roe. -
FATTOUSH – heirloom tomato, summer melon, cucumber, crunchy pita, smoked feta, red shatta labne + lots of mint and basil
-
WOLFE RANCH QUAIL – bbq’d with peach molasses, green tomato matbucha, charred brassica labne and summer salata
-
SHISH BARAK – tiny lamb dumplings with sweet corn, vadouvan & glazed garlic yogurt
-
MAQLUBA – softshell crab upside down rice
with embered corn & crab fat yogurt, served with crab daqqa gazawiya, heirloom tomato, dill seed & chilis
