Fashion designer Amaury Darras takes an artistic turn at Womanray gallery
Going against the technological visions that often dominate science fiction, Amaury Darras imagines a world in which nature reclaims its rightful place. At Womanray gallery, the artist and fashion designer trained in fine cabinetmaking, presents a series of wooden sculptures that blur the boundaries between clothing, furniture and works of art.
Created without preliminary sketches, his pieces draw as much on traditional craftsmanship as on video games and fantasy aesthetics. Conceived in collaboration with Studio Philou, the exhibition unfolds as an almost post-apocalyptic landscape, questioning our relationship with bodies, gendes and spaces we inhabit.
“Xylomancie dormante. Amaury Darras”. Exhibition until October 31st, 2026, at Womanray gallery, 18-19 passage Molière, Paris 3rd arrondissement.
