Fattoush’s entrance on West Pico Boulevard.
Fattoush, a new glatt kosher charcoal grill restaurant, is now open on West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. The restaurant soft-opened in early October, bringing the mezze-and-grill tradition of Jerusalem’s Machane Yehuda market to the Pico-Robertson corridor: small plates, fresh salads, warm laffa and skewers off the live-fire grill, all shared at the table. The restaurant takes its name from the Levantine bread salad.
The Menu
Thirteen skewers come off the live-fire grill. The lineup runs from the signature Israeli Kabob, ground beef with sumac onion, to the Persian Kabob, Shish Kabob, a grilled rib eye and Mergaz, a spiced lamb sausage. Every skewer is ordered a la carte, and any two come with a fresh laffa and twelve house salad dips on the house. The grill runs beef, chicken, lamb sausage and fish.

Starters run from a hummus plate and eggplant baladi to beef cigars, fish arayes, beef baklava, a Jerusalem mix, Fattoush nachos and knaffe pulled beef. Salads include a Jerusalem market salad and a branzino crunch salad. Laffa comes plain or zaatar, and desserts include kataifi cheesecake and knafeh.

Fattoush is the latest addition to the Pico-Robertson corridor, the largest concentration of kosher dining in Los Angeles, with dozens of kosher restaurants and markets within walking distance.
Beyond the skewers, the menu runs to mezze like fire-roasted eggplant baladi with ground beef, beef cigars and fish arayes, plus salads, sides and desserts. Skewers run $9 to $39, and mezze $18 to $35.
