Shinsegae Department Store said on the 2nd that it is running discount and rewards promotions across fashion, food and living categories in step with “SSG Day,” Shinsegae Group’s largest annual shopping event, which opened on Oct. 30.
The department store is offering discount coupons by product category according to the promotion period. Through the 5th, shoppers receive 3,000 won off on purchases of at least 10,000 won in sweets and deli items and at least 30,000 won in food market items, based on a single brand. Purchases of at least 200,000 won in kitchen, bedding and decor items from a single brand qualify for a 10,000-won discount.
From the 6th to the 8th, the discounts expand. Shoppers receive 5,000 won off on purchases of at least 10,000 won in food and beverage items and at least 30,000 won in food market items. Purchases of at least 100,000 won at wine brands and at least 200,000 won at a single fashion accessories brand each qualify for a 10,000-won discount.
Discount coupons are also available on Beyond Shinsegae, the department store’s own online platform. Coupons are offered daily on a first-come, first-served basis: a 15% coupon worth up to 30,000 won on purchases of at least 30,000 won, and a 20% coupon worth up to 10,000 won on purchases of at least 50,000 won.
Rewards benefits are also on offer. From the 2nd to the 5th, purchases of luxury, fashion and accessories items from a single brand paid with Shinsegae-affiliated Citi, Hana or BC Baro cards earn up to 7% of the purchase amount in Shinbaek Reward points. From the 6th to the 8th, the same offer applies to Shinsegae-affiliated Citi, Samsung, Shinhan, Hana and BC Baro cards.
Through the 15th, all stores are also holding an “Outerwear Fair” and a “Gongansasul (Space Narrative) Living Week” to capture winter shopping demand. The Outerwear Fair offers discounts on winter items from fashion and outdoor brands including Studio Tomboy, Dellalana, Nepa and Snow Peak. At the Gongansasul (Space Narrative) Living Week, purchases of home appliance, furniture and bedding brands paid with a Shinsegae-affiliated Samsung Card earn Shinsegae gift certificates worth up to 10% of the purchase amount.
“As this is the largest discount event of the year, we will deliver the joy of shopping through benefits that customers can tangibly feel,” said Lee Sung-hwan, executive vice president in charge of sales strategy at Shinsegae Department Store.
