Samsung Life Insurance (032830.KS) has unveiled an integrated care model that uses artificial intelligence to manage the daily lives of older adults and connect them with local medical institutions.

The insurer said on the 4th that it presented the community-based integrated care model, called Senior Connected Care, at AI Expo MARS 2026, held at COEX in Seoul from the 3rd to the 5th.

The model is designed to help older adults continue living in their existing homes, covering everything from daily living support and safety checks to referrals to medical institutions. It analyzes data collected by sensors installed in the home and by wearable devices to provide personalized health management services.

The system relies on three core algorithms grounded in clinical medicine: disease prediction, vitality management and detection of abnormal signs. It provides tailored missions and guidance based on each person’s living patterns and activity levels, and adjusts those activity levels as the data changes. If a pattern differs from the norm, a monitoring staff member reviews the situation and, if necessary, passes the information to a family caregiver or a local community care worker. When a medical judgment is required, the system connects the user to a medical institution such as a regional hub hospital.

Samsung Life is running a pilot project in the Dongtan area through December in partnership with the city of Hwaseong. Working with local institutions including public health centers and regional hub hospitals, the company plans to test whether key services — daily living support, safety checks and medical referrals — can be applied in the field.

“In a super-aged society, integrated care must evolve beyond simply checking on the safety of seniors toward supporting their everyday lives and connecting them to medical care and community care when needed,” a Samsung Life official said. “Together with regional hub hospitals and local governments, we will build an integrated care model that allows seniors to live with peace of mind in the places where they have always lived.”
