El Raml ( meaning “The Sand”) is excellent value for money in Siwa Oasis , at the far end of the Egyptian Western Desert comprising simplicity, functionality ( WiFi, TV, air con, cooking facilities), cleanliness and strategic location ( not too close to the noisy town centre but not too far either-only 2 minutes walk at a quieter spot). Sayed who runs El Raml is a local Siwi who is very well travelled himself , speaks fluent English and goes out of your way to make sure you enjoy your stay in Siwa . He is an expert on understanding the Desert and the fragility of the Saharan environment and the Oases and constantly tries to achieve a balance between sustainable development of Siwa and the local community combined with preservation of local culture, traditions and community and family values.
