Kurds (Kurdish: Kurd, کورد), living densely in the geographical region extending from the Zagros Mountains in the east to the Taurus Mountains in the west, Hemrin Mountains in the south to the Kars-Erzurum plateaus in the north, approximately 20-25 or 20-30 19 million Iranian people.

Today we found the largest Kurdish population in Turkey (15-22 million people), Iran, there are also considerable Kurdish population in Iraq and Syria. There is also a Kurdish diaspora settled in different geographical regions such as North America and Central Asia, especially in Western Europe, due to the immigration that occurred in the second half of the 20th century, both due to the political and social chaos and problems in the region and other reasons. While the Kurdish culture has various similarities with other Middle Eastern cultures as a result of centuries of interaction, the Kurdish religious belief has developed quite syncretically. Today, while the majority of Kurds are Sunni Muslims affiliated with the Shafii sect, members of many different religions and beliefs are also found. In addition to these, there are also various religious sects, currents and beliefs that emerged among Kurds such as Ezidism and Ahl-i Hakk, which are characterized by Kurdish culture and religious understanding.
