Trivia: One of the difficult things to introduce Japan is how you display Japanese proper nouns in English. For example “Naka-meguro” and “Daikan-yama”. Railway companies often like to display like these. Probably they want to separate the meanings properly like “naka” and “meguro” / “daikan” and “yama” just like the way we understand in Japanese. However we don’t need to use a hyphen to understand the meaning correctly. 中目黒 (Naka-meguro) is “Middle Meguro” and 代官山 (Daikan-yama) is “Daikan Mountain” and that’s what we all understand without any explanations so sometimes I see “Nakameguro” and “Daikanyama” as the English translations. This is what makes my video editing difficult. I have added the title “Daikan-yama Station” for the station but on the other hand “Daikanyama T-Site” for the Tsutaya Books facility. Sigh………
