Where do you want to travel to in 2021? For hidden beaches, perfect blue waters, stunning landscapes, luxury accommodations, delicious foods and unique history, you should consider this remote paradise island off the south coast of Vietnam. This is the top 10 things to do in Con Dao.
Con Dao island is relatively undeveloped compared to mainland Vietnam, and has the very chilled-out vibe of a small town. Con Dao’s main attractions are in the day-time, with a multitude of beautiful beaches to sunbathe on, a lush National Park to hike through, and some cultural and historic sites to visit to learn about Con Dao’s history as a French prison island. There are several luxury accommodations on the island if you want a boujee escape, or for the best of both worlds, you can buy food/drinks there (like us) and enjoy their amenities without the price tag. We stayed at Villa Maison, well-known on the island for its gourmet food, for ~1 million VND/night. Even during COVID time, prices throughout the island were affordable for food, accommodation and attractions.

Con Dao isn’t easily accessible, requiring a short 45 minute biplane flight from Saigon’s Tan Son Nhat airport (~3.5 million VND / $150 return) or a bumpy 3 hour ferry from Vung Tau (~1.5 million VND / $65).
