Lockdown in the Netherlands

Since march 2020, the Netherlands is in crisis.
Coronavirus has hit us pretty hard, compared to some other Western countries. Up to now, over 16.000 people died because of the virus, which is pretty bad for such a small country as ours.

We have experienced several waves of the virus, resulting in the government imposing subsequent lockdowns. Schools, shops and restaurants in the Netherlands have been closed, opened and closed again.

Thousands of people lost their jobs, thousands of businesses have gone bankrupt. We are allowed to go outside during the day, at night there is a curfew and we have to stay inside.

In this video I bring you along to Amsterdam and The Hague, being the largest and the third largest city of the Netherlands. I want to show you what these cities look like during lockdown. Maybe the lockdown in your country looks like the situation in The Netherlands, maybe not. I have spoken to several people from the USA, India, Britain and Germany who tell me the lockdowns in their areas are much more strict than in the Netherlands. Others tell me that in their city, not everybody cares about the lockdown and the police does not always uphold lockdown regulations.

Please let us know what is going on in your country, city or area! Do you still live in lockdown? And how do you feel about it? Share your experience in the comments, all of us are interested in what you have to tell about your local lockdown. Thanks in advance and all the best in these difficult times!

Many thanks to that very nice skater dude who was willing to answer my questions in The Hague. I don’t know your name but thanks for being cool man!
