Hello I’m Sabrina Meyers – your go to person for discovering the best venues, hotels and destinations in the world for events. As part of my job, I get to attend trade shows, forums and industry events around the globe too and create vlogs on my experiences, and the people behind the scenes.

This vlog is my first day experience taking part in a Press Trip as an event planner from Germany attending MICEPeak in Riga, Latvia. It was my first time not only in Riga but also to Eastern Europe and Baltics.

MICEPeak is an annual show organised by PeC Communications and part of MICEBoard which is an online MICE resource and news board for event planners and professionals in Germany, Switzerland and Austria as well as German speaking territories. Every year it takes place in a different city outside of Germany.

It was 4 nights and 4 days or 3 nights and 4 days depending when you arrive. It is an event designed for event planners to meet with international suppliers (non-German), learn about the destination and network through various organised engaging and interactive activities and events.

Overall Experience Feedback: Very positive experience as I really discovered what a great destination Riga is for MICE. I networked with some fantastic diverse international suppliers and also met high-level German, Swiss and Austrian peers in the industry. The format of the show was also different in that the buyers got to choose who they wanted to meet from a selection of suppliers. There were more buyers than suppliers so if you didn’t get a meeting slot to meet with your preferred suppliers, you could connect with them during the many networking activities.
