Celebrity Cruises announced that its soon-to-debut Celebrity Beyond would be a stretched version of its recently unveiled Edge-Class ships, the Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge.
The Celebrity EDGE and Celebrity APEX, built in 2018 and 2020, are current size leaders in the Celebrity fleet.
130,818 GT – 306 m (1,004 ft) – 2,918 passengers (double capacity) – 1,320 crew
The Celebrity BEYOND will be longer and taller with 179 additional staterooms making the cruise ship 12% larger than the two previous Edge-class ships.
140,600 GT – 327 m (1,073 ft) – 3,258 passengers (double capacity) – 1,416 crew
The ship is currently under construction at the giant Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, where was built the Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex. The maiden voyage of the Celebrity Beyond will be a 10-night Western Europe sailing from Southampton in the U.K.
After its first sailing, Celebrity Beyond will move to the Mediterranean for a series of voyages in Italy, France and in the Greek Islands. In October 2022, the vessel will reposition to Florida for winter sailings to the Caribbean. The famous actor Gwyneth Paltrow recently announced she was introduced as Beyond’s well-being advisor with her wellness company Goop.
