After our unforgettable time in The Western Desert, we made our way South to Aswan and stayed on the quiet and charming Elephantine Island for a few days before starting on a sailing journey up The Nile!

Sailing The Nile is likely near the top of any Egypt bucketlist and while there are several ways to do this, we choose the more adventurous option on a felucca which is a traditional Egyptian sailboat. There is no motor and no cabin on a felucca and really the length of our trip and the end destination would all be determined by the wind.

We cruised North on the Nile River for 3 full days and nights from Aswan to Edfu. We made a few different stops along the way at temples and even a local camel market.

We had very high expectations for our journey and this really was the perfect way to experience The Nile!
