Discover with us one of the most amazing countries that we visited: Turkey. It has been a blast, both culturally, historically, and religiously. At the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey has a unique identity with an incredible food, welcoming people and among the most beautiful landscapes and monuments of the world. This video is covering only the highlights of Turkey, from Istanbul (formerly Byzantine and Constantinople) to Izmir the capital of the Aegan coast as well as the Roman ruins of Ephesus and the rock travertines of Pamukkale. Going then to the south for some swimming at Fethiye and discovering Antalya’s flowered historic center. Last but not least, feeling like on the moon in Cappadocia.
We did an itinerary of 2 weeks starting from Istanbul, down to the Aegan cost until Antalya and finishing with astonishing landscape of Cappadocia.
Day 1/2/3 – Istanbul
– Dive into Istanbul religious heart by visiting the most beautiful Mosques of Istanbul: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Suleymaniye
– Walk through history by visiting the Roman Cistern and the Topkapi former Sultan’s palace
– Enjoy a day on the Bosphorus by doing a cruise that reaches the Black sea
– Find everything you need at the Grand Bazaar and enjoy spices smell at the Egyptian Bazaar
– Enjoy Istanbul’s nightlife at Besiktas, Galata and Balat neighborhoods
Day 4/5 – Izmir
– Walk through the iconic Izmir’s Kordon (seaside promenade) and enjoy bars on the Northern side
– Visit the Konak square, center of the city with its Clock tower, Konak Mosque and nearby Bazaar
– Dive into Roman age by visiting the Agora open air museum
Day 6 – Pamukkale
– Get astonished by the dazzling whiteness of the Travertines and enjoy the light on it at sunset time
– Don’t miss the antic Roman city of Hierapolis and its magnificent theatre
– If you are brave enough, go for paragliding above the Travertines at sunrise
Day 7 – Ephesus
– Discover Turkey’s most known Roman monument: the Library of Celsus
– Enjoy a day off at Attila’s Getaway, one of the best hotel we have done in Turkey
– Visit Sirince, a small and pretty wine village hided in the mountains
Day 8/9 – Fethiye
– Sail on a Gulet, a typical wooden boat from Turkey and enjoy the islands and the sea
– Show how courageous you are by making the 1957 meters paragliding jump at Oludeniz
– Get frightened at the ghost town of Kayakoy, a Greek village evacuated in 1921
Day 10/11 – Antalya
– Visit the beautiful and flowered Antalya’s historic center with its amazing Hadrian’s gate
– Go down to one of the oldest Roman harbour of Turkey and take a trip to the Duden waterfall
– Walk through the Karaalioglu park and enjoy the sunset view on the sea
Day 12/13 – Cappadocia
– Have a ton of fun riding a quad around the desert during the ATV tour
– Rent a car to visit Goreme surroundings, don’t miss Uchisar castle, Devrent valley and Zelve
– Go for the green tour that take you down to underground cities and the beautiful Ilhara valley
– Wake up at 4am to enjoy the most amazing sunrise from an Hot air balloon above Cappadocia
– Extend the dream by staying at a Cave hotel, with bedrooms carved into the rock
Day 14 – Istanbul
– Enjoy for the last time the incredible Turkey’s food
– If you have some time, go to Princess island or Maiden’s tower on the Asian side of the city
