Despite the mixed feeling I had for Myanmar trip, looking back, I am simply grateful. Truly it might have not been the smoothest journey, but that is how traveling is all about.
It shows reality; traveling isn’t always about rainbows and unicorns.
Throughout this short 2 weeks of journey, I also realized one thing what Myanmar showed me, that is how to build bridges of understanding between different cultures; Muslim’s and Buddhism. Knowing the fact that there are many, if not a lot, negative news about Rohingya, I am blessed to be able to see Myanmar myself and experience it as a muslim, in this climate of fear.
I am glad that I can say this trip has proven another one thing about traveling, that is:
“We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed.” -Pico Iyer
Insha Allah, I am sure I will be back again to reexplore and relearn the country, to see them with my own eyes. It is not just the “where” and the “what”; it’s the “how” and the “why”.

Enjoy and thanks so much for watching! xo-Syifa
