Siapa yang tidak kenal dengan Dolly? Nama lokalisasi terbesar se-Asia Tenggara yang diambil dari nama seorang perempuan Indo-Belanda ini telah tersohor sejak puluhan tahun yang lalu. Pusat prostitusi yang meluas hingga ke permukiman warga ini dulunya dikenal dengan perempuan-perempuan cantiknya berpakaian minim yang dipajang di dalam “akuarium” atau etalase, yang siap dipilih untuk melayani para pelanggannya.
Namun, sejak secara resmi ditutup oleh Pemerintah Kota Surabaya pada tahun 2014, gemerlapnya kehidupan malam sudah tidak lagi nampak di Dolly. Perempuan penjajah kenikmatan beserta mucikarinya yang mayoritas pendatang, telah diberi pesangon dan dikembalikan ke daerah asalnya masing-masing. Kemegahan wisma-wisma besar dengan “akuariumnya” dan hiruk
pikuk rumah musik di gang-gang sempit sirna seketika itu juga.
