Bapuon temple full Episode
Cambodia is one of the oldest countries in southeast Asia. It was a divine land of gods. Due to having het splendid civilization and the glory of the Khmer Empire, this fabled country comprises hundreds of tourist attractions in every corner of each part, they can absorb millions of tourists per year. If you want to visit the countries in south east Asia, Cambodia should be the first option.
Today ancestral Khmer Inheritance channel, would like to bring you to visit Bapuon temple. This temple is located in Angkor Thom city on the northeast of Bayon temple about 400m, just on the south next to the royal enclosure and on the west of the main road about 300m. we can access the temple from the east gate, walking on a three row columns causeway for 172m or taking the shortcut from Bayon temple.
The straight tall gum tree around the temple providing a cool shade for the tourist for taking rest. These stones were fallen off from the temple during the war and they have been kept here for the restoration.
If we walking on the beautiful tiny causeway there, we will see two ponds that represented to the mimic Hindu oceans. A pool here on the left Sanskrit language called Tirta in the past the pilgrim has to come to bath in here to cleanse their sins before they proceeded to the religious event in the temple. The water is clear, the reflection. It’s cool.
Bapuon is essentially a massive five tired pyramid temple in Angkor Thom, this artificial maintain temple is seated on a big rectangular foundation, 120m long by 100m wide at its base and 50m tall from the ground level surrounded by three enclosing walls and the outermost measure about 425m from E to W and 125m from S to N.
The temple was built by a Hindu king name Udytidyavarman II in 11th century dedicated to lord Shiva, beside constructed Bapuon as his state temple, the king also had built other temples at else where like Prasat Phnom Banon in Batdombong province and especially he built the biggest …….. water reservoir west barray 8km with irrigation system to sustain for the agriculture sector and this legacy is still in use until present day.
Visiting the holy ancient temple we ought to pay respect as the tourist conduct codes say: not to little, not to … short, not to eat or shout in the temple. For the safely reason, the children under 12 year and pregnant women are prohibited to climb.
