Sleeping Beauty by Russian State Ballet will be held at Guangzhou Opera House from Dec.16 to Dec.17,2015.
Russian State Ballet is directed by Russian Ministry of Culture and has visited more than 80 countries and regions with international best level. The troupe has world tour in Germany, US, Italy, Spain, England, Japan etc. gaining success and recognition.
Sleeping beauty
For a long time, the king and queen and the entire court with them have yearned for the birth of their daughter, Princess Aurora. But no one of them reckoned with Carabosse. And so fate takes its course: On her 16th birthday Aurora pricks her finger and falls into a deep slumber, taking the castle and all its inhabitants with her – until a prince comes and wakes the girl and all the others up again…
A hundred years pass and a prince from another family spies the hidden castle during a hunting expedition. He passes the sleeping castle folk and comes across the chamber where the Princess lies asleep on the bed. Struck by the radiant beauty before him, he falls on his knees before her. The enchantment comes to an end by a kiss and the princess awakens and converses with the prince for a long time.
Meanwhile, the rest of the castle awakens and go about their business. The prince and princess walk to the hall of mirrors to dine and are later married by the chaplain in the castle chapel.
