We’re heading down the M4 Motorway from South Wales to Central London, the Southbank and Waterloo. But what’s this? M4 closed!
Our trip from Wales is about 175 miles heading east on the M4 past Cardiff, Bristol, Heathrow Airport and into West London through Hammersmith and Earl’s CourtIt’s then along the Thames, over the Lambeth Bridge to our destination at Waterloo near the London Eye and the South Bank.

Driving into central London is usually very busy although it wasn’t that bad during this trip although when you drive into central London you do have to pay a congestion charge – at the time of this trip, it was £15 per day.
We take a little stop en route at Membury service station, the glamour of it all!
If you’re not used to motorway driving in the UK watch out for those average speed cameras. One section of the M4 had then for nearly 40 miles.
